Description: The Department of Modern Languages and Literatures at Claremont McKenna College (CMC) invites applications for an open rank faculty position in Arabic (non-tenure-track) to begin in July 2018. The position is for three years, with the possibility of renewal, subject to annual performance review.
A PhD in Arabic or in a related discipline is required. A minimum of three years of teaching experience at the university level is also required. The teaching load is five courses per academic year. We seek candidates with native or near-native fluency in Arabic to teach all levels of Arabic language and literature, and to teach various upper-division courses in English translation.
Area of Specialization: Arabic language, Arabic grammar, Arabic literature, Arabic Linguistics, Arabic literature in English translation.
